Pilot Armour Suits

Category:
armor
Description:

As part of Special Project 17 prototype armoured suits with cooling systems have been developed by Professor Anna Morozov and are being field tested on Strata. The current designs were based upon the combat flight suits of aerospace pilots and the tanker’s smocks of vehicle crews. The initial purpose was to create an under-suit for use with prototype battle armour that would protect (and cool) the pilot from the rigours of battle armour operation, and double as light infantry armour for a dismounted battle armour pilot.

Bio:

Light Aerospace Flight Suit
An optimised version of standard Combat Flight Suit (ATOW pg 295).
Flight Suit: Torso, Arms, Legs 2/3/2/2. May be sealed (with suit and accessories), provides 48 hours life support. Weight 3.5 kg.
Flight Neurohelmet: Head 2/3/2/2. May be sealed (with suit and accessories), AV10 vs Flash. Weight 2.5 kg.
Flight Gloves: Hands 1/1/1/1. May be sealed (with suit and accessories). Weight 0.3 kg.
Flight Boots: Feet 2/3/3/1. May be sealed (with suit and accessories). Weight 1.5 kg.

Light Battle Armour Operator Suit
A prototype battle armour pilot protective suit, designed to provide some protection but be wearable under a battle armour suit.
Operator Suit: Torso 3/5/5/3, Arms and Legs 2/3/2/2. Weight 4.0 kg.
Operator Cap: Head 2/3/2/2. Weight 1.0 kg.
Operator Gloves: Hands 1/1/1/1. Weight 0.3 kg. Includes military communicator.
Operator Boots: Feet 2/3/3/1. Weight 1.0 kg.
Note: 1) A standard infantry helmet is carried and used when dismounted from the battle armour.

Light Mechwarrior Pilot Suit
Based upon the light battle armour operator suit and combat flight suit, compatable with battlemech cooling systems and fittings. The Mechwarrior Helmet is an altered Federated Suns helmet with improved flare compensation, improved visibility, and replacing the rangefinder (needed with ) with a night vision system. The design intention is for a helmet that will protect the wearer while allowing an ejected mechwarrior to more easily return to friendly forces.
Light Pilot Suit: Torso 3/5/5/3, Arms and Legs 2/3/2/2. Weight 4.0 kg.
Neurohelmet: Head 4/4/3/2. Weight 6.0 kg. Encumbering, -2 to perception.
Mechwarrior Helmet: Head 4/5/5/4. Weight 1.0 kg. Includes military communicator, IR Scanner, Night Vision. Requires HC Micro Power Pack (1 PPH), AV10 vs Flash.
Light Pilot Gloves: Hands 1/1/1/1. Weight 0.3 kg. Includes military communicator.
Light Pilot Boots: Feet 2/3/3/1. Weight 1.0 kg.
HC Micro Power Pack: 20g, 20PP. Built into Helmet.
Note: 1) A Mechwarrior Helmet is carried and used when dismounted from the battle mech. 2) Worn Neurohelmets are encumbering and impose -2 to perception only if the neurohelmet is disconnected from the cockpit, such as after ejecting.

Medium Mechwarrior Pilot Suit
Based upon the light battle armour operator suit and combat flight suit, compatable with battlemech cooling systems and fittings. The added space of a battlemech cockpit allows the medium suit to match the protection of standard infantry armour without compromising the effectiveness of the pilot.
Medium Pilot Suit: Torso 3/5/5/3, Arms and Legs 3/5/4/3. Weight 6.0 kg.
Neurohelmet: Head 4/4/3/2. Weight 6.0 kg. Encumbering, -2 to perception.
Mechwarrior Helmet: Head 4/5/5/4. Weight 1.0 kg. Includes military communicator, IR Scanner, Night Vision. Requires HC Micro Power Pack (1 PPH), AV10 vs Flash.
Medium Pilot Gloves: Hands 2/2/2/2. Weight 0.5 kg. Includes military communicator.
Medium Pilot Boots: Feet 3/5/5/3. Weight 1.5 kg.
Plasteel Boots: Feet 4/6/4/4. Weight 2.0 kg
3) Medium Pilot Boots or Plasteel Boots are used, at the pilots preference.

Heavy Mechwarrior Pilot Suit
Based upon optimised ballistic plate armour, fitted with cooling systems. Currently unique, with one system fabricated by Professor Anna Morozov for use by Jacques Dubois.
Heavy Pilot Suit: Torso, Arms, Legs 4/6/5/4. Weight 15kg. Encumbering if Body < 6 and if Strength < 6. Very Encumbering if both Body and Strength are < 6.
Neurohelmet: Head 4/4/3/2. Weight 6.0 kg. Encumbering, -2 to perception.
Mechwarrior Helmet: Head 4/5/5/4. Weight 1.0 kg. Includes military communicator, IR Scanner, Night Vision. Requires HC Micro Power Pack (1 PPH), AV10 vs Flash.
Heavy Pilot Gloves: Hands 3/3/3/3. Weight 1.0 kg. Includes military communicator.
Plasteel Boots: Feet 4/6/4/4. Weight 2.0 kg.
HC Micro Power Pack: 20g, 20PP. Built into Helmet.
_Note: 1) A Mechwarrior Helmet is carried and used when dismounted from the battle mech. 2) Worn Neurohelmets are encumbering and impose -2 to perception only if the neurohelmet is disconnected from the cockpit, such as after ejecting.
